Over forty years of experience as a guitar instructor, performer and music entrepreneur.

 

Biography

Mr. Gecik has a wide background in the music industry of North East Ohio and abroad. He studied Classic Guitar Studies with Aaron Shearer from 1994-1996, with Narciso Yepes Master Classes in Paris, France in 1975, with Carlos Barbosa-Lima from 1974-1975, and with Sophocles Pappas in 1974. George was the owner, president and CEO of Special Productions Inc out of Kirtland, OH, where he supervised and managed 32 musicians and leaders of varying talent and temperament. He developed a high-end entertainment agency which served five states.

 

He is currently serving as an adjunct faculty for Cleveland State University, Lakeland Community College, and the Willoughby School of Fine Arts. George teaches several music classes including Guitar Class for Music Therapy, How to Survive in the Music Industry, How to Write and Market a Pop Song, and private guitar lessons. He has also worked as an instructor with Youngstown State University teaching private lessons, guitar ensemble and a guitar class.

 

 

 

 

George has a guitar and electric bass focus, and experience with classical, jazz, folk style and fingerpicking.  He teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced students.
